The Marchetti brothers took over the long-standing vinegar workshop Vittorio Gallina in Mira (VE), moving the small amount of basic equipment to the old farmhouses of Villa Lando Correr in Lozzo Atestino (PD).

The launch of Valbona brand

The Valbona brand was established for the first production of pickled vegetables in jars. The brand took its name from the hamlet and castle near its main offices in Lozzo Atestino.

Thanks to a positive market reaction, Valbona extended its range and began to make products for the brands in the local retail trade.

Marchetti and Cavallini: the second generation

The company was taken over by the second generation, the Marchetti and Cavallini families, whic still lead the company today. Strategic agreements were made to supply some major chains in the Italian large-scale retail trade.

Oil-preserved and rice-salad vegetables: new products

The range of products was extended and the company began to produce its first oil-preserved vegetables and vegetables for rice-salad, complementing the already wide range of pickles.

At the beginning of the 1990s, Valbona signed other agreements that were crucial to its development, confirming its position as a leading company on the national market for the production of vegetables in jars for the private label sector. The first supplies were delivered abroad.

A new production plant

To meet growing demand, the company made a huge investment by opening an ultra modern production plant. Equipped with 2 production lines and covering an area of 30,000 square metres, the state-of-the-art plant had a production capacity of 300,000 jars a day.

Increasing experience and new investments led Valbona to further expand its range with a variety of sauces.

The new logistic centre

The new logistics centre opened in Monselice, covering an area of 12,000 square metres. The centre has a storage capacity of over 20,000 pallets and a computerized control system that ensures absolute precision and complete traceability of all shipments.

Valbona diversified and entered the Fresh produce sector. The Magie della Natura brand was launched for all processed fresh vegetables and 5th range (ready-to-eat) products.

Organic and Vegan range

Valbona chooses to further enhance the nature conserved in its products and launches the Valbìo range dedicated to the organic world and then the Vegan range with gluten-free preserved products, without cheese and 100% vegetal

The new era of vegetable

With a focus on the new market needs, Valbona launches a revolutionary high-service product, the VEGANETTE, vegetable in slices 100% vegetal in tray.

The creativity of Valbona reinvents the great classics of the tradition and creates ACCENTI (accents), a true taste experience where classic pickles are matched and valued in a gourmet key with special vinegars
